FROM THE HILL AT HOPEWELL »

Home Sweet Home

There’s No Place Like Home

One year ago today, I was nine months pregnant, and we were moving into our new house here on the hill.  Wow.  It doesn’t seem like it has been a whole year that we have been here. Our first year in our new house has flown by.  But it also feels like we have been here forever.  Because, we sort of have… well, I have.  I grew up at the bottom of the hill, and I used to ride my little four-wheeler through the field up on the hill where our house now sits.  So, I have lots of memories of this land, and I’m pretty much attached to it.  I am so glad that now my husband and children are attached to it with me. More memories are being made here every single day.  I love everything about our new house.  It’s more than just a house, though.  It’s home.

vincent’s crib bedding

Happy February!  We have almost been in our new home for one year, and we will soon celebrate Vincent’s first birthday.  We moved into our new home just 10 days before Vincent was born, and we were rushing to get everything in and somewhat situated before he arrived, so we started off using a lot of Grayson’s nursery bedding and furniture for Vincent.  I love all of Grayson’s nursery bedding and furniture, but it was time for an update.  I am blessed to have a Mother that just so happens to have her own nursery bedding shop.  I asked her if we could change things up a little bit and go with a solid oatmeal linen for Vincent’s crib bedding and a classic tailored style.  She knew exactly what I had in mind.  I am absolutely in love with his crib bedding and matching rocker. Thanks so much for taking a look!

Vincent’s bedding looks fantastic in his room…I did not realize until the photos…the oatmeal linen is perfect with your wall color! I love that classic style crib bedding!

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE.

we had our first fire of the season over the weekend.  it was so cozy and warm!  i love the smell of a wood-burning fireplace.  i am so glad that when we built our house we decided to have a wood-burning fireplace.  there is just nothing like the warmth that it creates… and sitting in front of the fire is so relaxing.  i remember when i was growing up i loved to help my dad with the fire, and going with him to cut firewood…  he would cut it and chop it, and i would load it up in his truck.  that was so much fun to me.  ahhh… those fun winter childhood memories.

here’s a little video to put you in the holiday spirit.  wishing you a wonderful week.  XO!

APARTMENT A.

after taking grayson to the school bus stop on friday morning, vincent and i stopped by auntie allie’s new apartment on our way home. she moved from the big city back to the farm over the summer, and she and mom and dad have been fixing up her apartment.  she just recently moved in, so i wanted to stop by and take a peek.  i love how it has turned out.. it fits allie quite well to me.  i happen to think it is just darling.  apartment a is filled with such a hodge-podge of cuteness and tons of personality. there’s just something about growing up out in the country around here.. there’s no place like home.

That apartment is amazing! The amount of character, whimsy and peacefulness is fantastic! Love it! Also love finding another mom to a Greyson…yeah we spell ours with an E, but I still love that name. :-)
